You must have seen people bowing their heads in mosques, temples and other religious places, but have you ever seen that someone is bowing their head in front of a motorcycle. If not, then go to Rajasthan for such an experience. Rajasthan is well known for its surprises and secrets, and another surprising thing is that people here bow their heads in front of a bullet motorcycle. Yes, in front of this motorcycle, not only ordinary people bow their heads but the police also worship this motorcycle.
This whole matter belongs to the Rajasthan province. Om Banna or Bullet Baba is a shrine located in Pali district near Jodhpur, India, devoted to a deity in the form of a motorcycle. It is located 20 kilometres from Pali and 50 kilometres away from Jodphur on the Pali-Jodhpur highway, near Chotila village. The motorcycle is a 350cc Royal Enfield Bullet RNJ 7773. There is an old story hidden behind this whole issue. Thakur Jog Singh used to live in Chotila village near Pali town in 1988. At that time his elder son Thakur Om Singh Rathore was also (Om Banna) with him. Om Singh was already very fond of riding a bullet Motorcycle. Perhaps this was the reason why he had a great bullet Motorcycle in 1988, due to the majestic chic. According to the people of pali region, one night Om Singh was going through that way. On the way there was a big tree on the side of the road where most of the road accidents were happened. At that place, Om Singh also became a victim of road accident, where he died on the spot. After some time a passer-by saw him lying on the road. On seeing, he identified Om Singh because people did not have bullet motorcycle at that time far away in the area. In a while the matter spread like a fire in the forest. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and took possession of the dead body and sent the motorcycle to the police station.
But then a startling incident happened when the bullet motorcycle had disappeared from the police station. On seeing this, the police came out to find that motorcycle. But after searching they found the motorcycle under the tree on the place of last night's road accident. The police again brought the motorcycle back to the police station. But the next morning again the same incident happened and the motorcycle was found under the same tree. Due to the same incident repeatedly, the police also took the matter seriously. Later, the police kept the bullet motorcycle under the tree after consulting the local villagers. This came to be seen as a miracle by local population, and they began to worship the “Bullet Bike.” News of the miracle motorcycle spread to nearby villages, and later they built a temple to worship it. This temple is known as “Bullet Baba’s Temple." It is believed that Om Banna’s spirit helps distressed travellers. The villagers believe that Om Singh was a very good person. But he was helpless in front of the cruelty of nature, due to which he had to suffer the accident. Every day nearby villagers and travellers stop and pray to the bike and its late owner Om Singh Rathore. Those who pass by stop to bow their heads leave offerings in honour of the helpful spirit, and some drivers also offer small bottles of alcohol at the site. Many local people offer incense sticks, flowers, coconut and red thread meant for offering prayers and sweets. A 24 hour fire is kept at the temple.
