When there is a lot of burden of thoughts on our consciousness, there is unrest in mind, then understand that consciousness has been imprisoned, it has been locked. Happiness can only get by going beyond this imprisonment. There are two ways of live life - one is contemplation and second is realization. Most people get entangled in different types of thoughts, they live less because they think of life as a way of thinking. They understand intellectualism as a self-realization. They read religious texts and philosophy and understand that all knowledge will be available to them. The information of all theories also gives them the illusion that they have become theologians. Due to this misconception, they start sharing knowledge with others. They do not even realize that all this knowledge is borrowed, stale. This type of knowledge cannot enlighten the life of any person, rather it remains scared that somewhere your mind should not be affected by any kind of ego.
In this case, whatever the person does, it is within the purview of the mind. It does not break the prison walls of the mind, but gets even stronger. Now the question is how to open this lock. The experienced person's conclusion is that meditation is the key from which this lock opens and samadhi is the solution. The effort to think or go beyond the limit of your mind makes us free from all things. There is one method of Jain seekers in Japan is to calm down breathing, slow down its pace, and slow down. It becomes so slow that it reaches 4 to 5 breaths in 1 minute. Here the breathing becomes calm and the thoughts begin to calm down. When you are in fear, anger, or some kind of excitement or lust, notice that your breath starts running at a faster pace and you lose your temper. The inconvenience of breath makes the world of thoughts within you. Therefore, Jain seekers do not fight with or control their thoughts. Both Buddhism and Jainism followed the same technique to calm down their mind. This technique has proved to be very effective for meditation.
